We were asked by the Z Records team to design the artwork for volume three in Colin Curtis’ Jazz Dance Fusion album series. For the latest instalment, the album would span across a whole range of formats with the jewel in the crown being two heavyweight gatefold vinyl albums.
We wanted to depict the warm and experimental nature of jazz by using bright, organic and abstract shapes for the album sleeves. Finally we used a mix of clean and bold typography that would contrast with the playful nature of the shapes.
