Numero Group

Numero Group Website Mobile Mock up

We created a new website for arguably the most niche music specialists in the game… 60s Country themed Xmas… check. Obscure Library music compilations… check. Y2K sleepover core from the US suburbs… check! The Numero Group are a pretty unique label who unearth long lost hidden music treasures and breath new life into these projects with highly collectable vinyl/digital albums.

When the team got in touch about a new website we jumped at the chance to work with such a well respected label. For our collaboration, the challenge was clear: design a website that honours their painstaking, aesthetically rich approach to archiving niche music history while providing a high-performance e-commerce experience that puts their immaculately curated products front and center.

Love Motion

Logo and brand identity design for Love Motion FestivalLogo and brand identity design for Love Motion Festival

We were tasked with creating the music festival brand identity and event design for Love Motion, a vibrant new festival that celebrates disco, soul, and electronic music as part of South Facing Festival at Crystal Palace Park in London. The event, headlined by the legendary Nile Rodgers & CHIC, brought together an incredible lineup of artists, including Louie Vega, Dimitri From Paris, Cerrone, and the House Gospel Choir. Our goal was to design a visual identity that captured the electric and high-energy atmosphere of the festival.

Design of festival flags for Love Motion Festival

Concept & Design

Inspired by the pulsating energy of a dance floor, our branding concept took inspiration from heat maps. We used an abstract gradient palette of deep purples, fiery reds, and golden yellows to represent the warmth and motion of a crowd in full swing. To create a captivating focal point, we paired these hypnotic gradients with a 3D glass heart, symbolizing the love for music that unites festival-goers. For the typography, we chose the bold, retro typeface Herbus to give the brand an authentic disco-era feel. The combination of the modern, abstract gradients with this classic typeface resulted in a visual language that felt both contemporary and nostalgic.

Johann Hedemann – Flora

Bespoke floral album cover design pattern for "Johann Hedemann – Flora"Bespoke floral album cover design pattern for "Johann Hedemann – Flora"

Our studio was tasked with creating the comprehensive album artwork and vinyl packaging design for surfer-songwriter Johann Hedemann’s release, Flora. Inspired by the lush, vibrant landscape of Hawaii, the design is a deep visual dive into his island heritage. The album’s striking album cover is a rich tapestry of native flowers, all featured in his previous single campaigns, creating a powerful sense of unity for this release. We extended this visual narrative to the vinyl discs themselves, which are splattered with white and blue to evoke the breathtaking colours of the Hawaiian sea.

Prime Direct Distribution

We were really excited to partner with Prime Direct Distribution – a true legend in the vinyl world – on a fresh rebrand and extensive new B2B website. A key element of this evolution that we designed was a new circular “P” logo, taking inspiration from classic vinyl center labels. It’s a minimal nod to their analog vinyl heritage and a key part of their updated look. Our primary goal for this project was crafting a slick new website aimed at making music discovery and ordering the latest vinyl releases as effortless as possible for their global network of record shops and retailers. This new online hub isn’t just for placing orders though; it’s also designed to show potential new partners – stores, labels, artists – how Prime Direct Distribution can help them with all aspects of music promotion and distribution.

Following the launch of their new online presence, we also designed some physical touchpoints to complement the updated brand: impactful delivery box packaging, vinyl slipmats, caps and over-sized t-shirts. This project was all about creating a cohesive brand experience for Prime Direct Distribution that feels as good as the records they distribute – a smooth online journey backed up by some quality merch to drive their business growth.

Simply Red

Another Kind worked with Simply Red, Quietus Management and Motive Unknown to design and build a bespoke new website to celebrate the band’s incredible 40th anniversary. This ambitious music fan archive web design project would be based around twelve of their studio albums with an album page being unlocked each month to provide a treasure trove of content for Simply Red fans to discover.

This included remastered videos, album documentary content, image galleries, limited edition merch, tour dates, press quotes and much much more. We also worked on upgrading the e-commerce experience as well as a special microsite for the launch of their new album: Recollections.

AC Soul Symphony – Metamorphosis

Vinyl album cover artwork design for AC Soul Sypmhony

We worked with Z Records founder Dave Lee to create an surrealist album cover illustration for AC Soul Symphony’s Metamorphosis. This album is uniquely centered around a 20-piece live orchestra, which we visualizsed in the album design by illustrating the string instruments in abstracted forms. This approach created a final composition reminiscent of oil paintings from the early surrealist movement. We then came up with two harmonious colour variations for the two-part double vinyl LP, CD, and digital cover art.

Jazz Dance Fusion Vol.3

We were asked by the Z Records team to design the artwork for volume three in Colin Curtis’ Jazz Dance Fusion album series. For the latest instalment, the album would span across a whole range of formats with the jewel in the crown being two heavyweight gatefold vinyl albums.

We wanted to depict the warm and experimental nature of jazz by using bright, organic and abstract hand drawn shapes for the album sleeves. Finally we used a mix of clean and bold typography that would contrast with the playful shape compositions.

Carpark Records

Carpark Records logo and brand identity designCarpark Records logo and brand identity design

Our graphic design studio partnered with the USA-based record label Carpark Records to deliver a complete refresh of their online presence. The goal was to provide a high-impact record label brand identity and web design to elevate their website and e-commerce platform.

The previous site required updated designs and new functionality to significantly improve the online shopping experience. We started by creating a bold new look and feel for the brand, incorporating US highway signage-influenced typography and illustrative logo updates for a confident, attention-grabbing first impression.

Specialising in e-commerce web design for music, we then completely re-designed and re-built their entire online store, leveraging the robust Shopify platform for stability and superior sales functionality.

235 Music Publishing

Logo and brand identity design for business cards for 235 Music Group

235 Music Publishing reached out to Another Kind to help with creating a clean and minimal brand identity for their forward thinking company. Final deliverables would include new logos, business cards, company stationary and a bespoke new website.

The brand identity had to be minimal enough to let artist imagery be the main focus of a new website yet bold enough to catch people’s eyes when seen on its own. We created a simple overlapping circular logo design that took inspiration from sound waves whilst also representing the company’s numbers in the abstract ascending rings. We paired the rings with an all caps typeface logo that would also inform the general no frills aesthetic of the brand’s wider typography.
