Brick Lane Beer

We partnered with Brick Lane Drinks to deliver updated beer branding and packaging design for their flagship beer range. The goal was to create a strong, recognisable brand identity that stands out from competition.

Our design approach centered on a bold, high-impact aesthetic: utilizing a primary color palette, minimal typography, and introducing a new isometric brick logo. We applied this design system across cans and bottle labels, ensuring maximum shelf presence.

To deepen customer engagement, we also developed a bespoke one-page website. This digital experience immerses visitors in the brand’s history, showcases their diverse range of beer styles, and serves as a direct guide to their flagship Brick Lane Beer Taproom.

Their delicious range of lagers, pale ales, and IPAs can be found at all Truman Brewery venues off Brick Lane in Shoreditch, East London.

Cafe 1001

We’ve had the pleasure of partnering with Café 1001 for over 4 years, helping transform this legendary East London venue on Brick Lane into a beautiful and vital cultural hub. As a dynamic space that seamlessly blends a café, workplace, cocktail bar, and a vibrant disco, Café 1001 is a place to eat, drink, work, and unwind. Our goal was to create a flexible brand identity that allows the venue to thrive in its many endeavours.

The core of our branding was inspired by the venue’s bespoke vinyl shelving and listening bar aesthetic. We developed a repeating geometric line pattern as the key visual element, using a clean monochrome colour palette. This pattern was applied across a wide range of touch points, from food and drink packaging to the branded barriers outside, creating a cohesive and instantly recognisable identity.

Our design work for Café 1001 spanned numerous applications, including: Menus, posters, food and drink packaging, wayfinding and signage, merchandise and slipmats as well as an extensive Cafe 1001 website.

Radio 1001

During the pandemic, we worked with the team to launch Radio 1001, an online radio station created to keep the community connected through music. The station has since grown into a thriving YouTube channel, featuring daily streams from local and global DJ talent. This project has been a rewarding collaboration, and we’re proud to have played a part in designing the visual language for a space that continues to bring people together through music.

Crafty Apple Cider

We love working with local businesses near us so we jumped at the chance when cider distributor Real Al approached us about designing a new cider brand identity and packaging for their flagship in-house brand. The owners were keen to create a playful and engaging brand that would grab customers’ attention across web, packaging, POS and merch.

The initial stages of the branding project for Crafty Apple were carried out by brilliant artist Leo Franchi who created paper cut patterns and illustrations using scanned apple peel as a perfect starting point. We then collaborated on bringing these wonderful graphics into a range of cider bottles and cans, packaging, merch and POS materials with new chunky typography lock ups and attention grabbing layouts.

Arnabeet

Brand identity and logo design for Arnabeet Modern Syrian Kitchen

We collaborated with the founders of Arnabeet to establish a powerful brand identity for their Syrian street food concept, aimed at making a memorable entry into the London market.

Our goal was to translate some of the vibrancy of Syrian culture into a cohesive visual language. The brand is built on a foundation of custom design elements:
A dedicated cauliflower symbol to serve as the immediate, memorable brand marker.
An accompanying bold, geometric pattern carefully abstracted from traditional Arabic tile designs, lending a modern yet culturally rich aesthetic.

We applied this new identity across all essential deliverables for their launch, including the design and production of menus, custom aprons, and eye-catching signage for their new location at the celebrated Seven Dials Market.

Sleazy Pizza

We were approached by the Truman Brewery team to create a new pizza restaurant brand identity design for a vacant restaurant unit within their East London complex.

After several research and consultation sessions with the team we came up with a concept that would take design influences from vintage erotica, modern day mascot illustrations and incorporate pun-tastic copy in to what would eventually become the deliciously naughty Sleazy Pizza brand.

As featured in Mascot by Counterprint Books.

The Sleazy Pizza project allowed us to fully flex our creative muscle and design an extensive branding identity. The final deliverables included a whole range of branded pizza restaurant assets such as bespoke printed pink pizza boxes, napkins, grease proof paper, loyalty cards and menus.

We also contributed to the interior design with a ripped poster feature wall to serve as a branded backdrop for customers’ instagram selfies. Our logo and pizza characters were turned into giant neon signs that adorn the windows and bath customers in pink light while large scale menu signage above the main counter gives customers a sleazy pun-filled ordering experience.

Finally what pizza restaurant design job would be complete without some must-have merchandise? A new collection of t-shirts, hoodies and caps now sits proudly above the till and is available for purchase in store while you wait for your naughty slices.

Terry’s Cafe

We partnered with Terry’s Cafe, the legendary traditional English cafe and full English breakfast institution located on Great Suffolk Street, South London. Founded in the early 1980s by former Smithfield market trader Terry, the business is now proudly run by his son, Austin. He commissioned us to re-invigorate the South London cafe brand identity and web design, balancing a modern appeal with deep respect for the cafe’s long-standing history and its status as a local landmark.

Core Identity

Our approach to the cafe branding and design focused on celebrating the business’s heritage while elevating its visual presence. The new brand identity features a distinctive golden beveled logo system paired with a premium, nostalgic colour palette of red, gold, white and cream. We used bold vintage raised typography to give the design a tactile feel, ensuring the identity feels timeless and authentic to its physical South London location.

Application & Merchandise

We deployed this cohesive design system across all essential cafe collateral, including sub-brand logos, new shop signage, window decals, custom crockery and tableware, business cards, and menu designs. A unique element of the project was the creation of a full range of Terry’s Cafe merchandise, featuring bespoke mascot illustrations of Austin himself, adding personality and collectible appeal to the brand.

Digital Presence

We designed and developed a comprehensive cafe website (a key digital presence piece) that serves as the central hub for the brand. This site allows customers to explore the cafe’s history, check out the latest breakfast menus and specials, make table bookings, find news updates, and conveniently buy Terry’s Cafe merchandise online. This brand revitalisation project successfully positioned Terry’s Cafe for future growth while cementing its status as an authentic London breakfast spot and heritage cafe.

Electric Star Pubs

Logo and brand identity design for Star Pubs

We’ve partnered with the Electric Star Pubs to develop bespoke branding for their beautiful and ever-expanding portfolio of venues across East and South London. The challenge was to create distinct identities for each unique pub while maintaining instant recognition as an “Electric Star” property.

Our solution was a comprehensive, astrology-inspired logo and branding system. The core concept draws inspiration from constellations and geometry, treating each pub as a unique star in the group’s galactic portfolio. Each venue received its own individual aesthetic, complete with a unique illustrative motif and logo that perfectly reflects its personality and interior mood. This ensures that whether you’re stepping into a cozy corner pub or a vibrant party spot, the underlying brand connection remains clear.

The latest gem in the portfolio is The Lord Napier Star in Hackney Wick, which opened in 2021. Its identity captures the venue’s eclectic mix of vibrant graffiti and stunning interior design, helping it turn heads across London.

We expanded each unique identity across a wide range of touchpoints, including website designs, menu systems, posters, loyalty cards, and digital marketing assets. Furthermore, we collaborated closely with KAI Interiors to develop bespoke wayfinding and window graphics, seamlessly integrating the brand’s celestial theme into the physical space.
